Project Description:
CarbonZero is a software that uses the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) technique to calculate the environmental impacts of a product throughout its life cycle. LCA can help us calculate all the emissions involved in all the phases of the product cycle (direct and indirect GHG emissions), which current methods do not consider due to their lack of structure. These indirect emissions (also known as scope 3 emissions) are responsible for at least 90% of the emissions. Our software will also identify eco-hotspots in the production cycle that can help manufacturers dedicate their resources accordingly. Along with this, this software will also provide recommendations for alternative sustainable raw materials, compare products with industry standards, and check compliance with various environmental regulations.
