SinuStim: Revolutionizing the Treatment of Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Project Description:

Our device, SinuStim, is targeted at patients that suffer from Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS), an inflammatory condition of the sinuses and nasal passages. It poses a significant healthcare challenge, impacting 42 million adults in the US & Canada, with patients experiencing a multitude of debilitating and persistent symptoms such as nasal obstruction, loss of smell, post-nasal drip, and facial pressure. CRS decreases the quality of their sleep, causes severe headaches, leads to chronic fatigue and a lack of focus or motivation at work or school. The current standard of care falls short in addressing a major root cause of the problem. SinuStim is a neuromodulation device that reduces neural overstimulation in the nasal cavity to reduce tissue swelling and open the nasal passageways for clear breathing. This novel solution is designed for all Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients that are failing medical management of the disease through currently available methods.
