A Strong Information-Theoretic Bound for Providing Secure Signs in Baseball

Team: CS Research Project (3)

Program:

Computer Science

Project Description:

This project formalizes the “game” that occurs in baseball in which coaches communicate via hand signals to their players and opponents attempt to decode them. We introduce different scenarios that may arise throughout the game and establish a maximum number of sequences that can be transmitted before the opponent is able to at least partially decode them.
