Genotyping the Lewis Lung Carcinoma only in mice Cell Line to Confirm Stable Green Fluorescent Protein Expression

Program:

Biomedical Engineering

Project Description:

This project investigated properties of a cell line used to model lung cancer, namely Lewis Lung Carcinoma only in mice (LLCom). Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is expressed in LLCom cells to allow for visualization, but the stability of this GFP expression was uncertain. After genotyping several tumor samples grown in mice, it was concluded that GFP is stably expressed in non-fibrotic tumor tissue.
