Generative AI Clinical Decision Support Tool for Telemedicine in LMICs

Intelehealth is an organization currently providing healthcare to patients in rural India through a telemedicine application. Through telemedicine healthcare workers present in rural India the application connects patients with high quality doctors in urban areas. Even with telemedicine connecting doctors to rural patients, a problem that pervades is the short doctor-patient interaction time which causes low quality data to be collected and a high rate of inaccurate diagnoses. Our team is combating this problem with a Clinical Decision Support Tool provided to doctors to increase their diagnostic rate and quality. Using the data that the health worker has collected about the patients, our Generative AI tool is able to provide an accurate list of possible diagnoses with reasonings and associated treatment plans. This information is then presented to the doctor to aid them in providing a high-quality diagnosis and treatment for the patient, and overall improving healthcare provided to rural patients.
